The Band Boosters & students have been putting on this event for 13 years now and it has proven to be our largest fundraiser! The idea behind this is to provide a safe environment for our area families and their little ones to dress up in costume, trick or treat and play games. We charge children ages 1-12 a small admission fee that gives them full access to the haunted hallway, bounce house, face paint, crafts & all games for as long as they want.
All games are put on by our very own band students in costume with candy to pass out as prizes. We literally transform an entire hallway into a haunted hallway! We decorate areas of the commons and student entrance, have a concessions stand and students with parents set up a craft table, face painting station, cake walk & a bouncy house. Students have a signup sheet in the band room for the haunted hallway, face painting, crafts and game stations. All of these stations/areas need parents & students to run them.
We can not stress enough how much help & donations are needed to truly make this a success. It takes hours and hours from students and volunteers to transform the school for this.
We also need help building the haunted hallway. This is quite the task. We are looking for a team of handy volunteers to help build this unique set up in the front hall at the school on Saturday, 10/30. Time TBD. Bring your tools!
Please take a moment to see if there is something you may want to help with or if you are busy that day a donation would be greatly appreciated.
Non-perishable doantions can be dropped off at in band room anytime prior to Sunday 10/31.

We have roughly 130 students this season! Unfortunately we do not have access to the school cafeteria.
The SHS Band Booster Association is currently planning where the students will have lunch.
We need a team to set up our 3 long serving tables, round tables and chairs every day for the 1st week. Help set up each days lunch per provided menu. Make (3) spout coolers full of lemonade & ice and (2) filled with ice water. Set out food & utensils/plates, ect, serve food to students as they walk by serving tables. FRUIT: During band camp we serve fruit at lunch for the first week and take trays of fruit to the field for the students breaks twice a day all 10 days... This is a lot of work and fruit! We have roughly 130 students this year plus staff!! Again, unfortunately this year we do not have access to the school cafeteria, freezer or fridge. This is making it hard to plan lunches as well as fruit cutting and storage for taking fruit to the field. We have access to a very small kitchen and small fridge with freezer. So, we are looking for fruit donations that do not have to be cut up. Ex: apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, strawberries, pre-cut watermelon slices, Freezie Pops, etc.
We also need lots of volunteers to get the fruit out to the field twice a day, please see link above in volunteer section.
Every year during band camp we like to throw the band students a private pool/pizza party to help cool them down and hang with their fellow friends to unwind. This is FREE and WELCOME to ALL band students!
This year we are having it in the middle of the band camp weeks again instead of at the end of camp. To be held on Friday, August 6th from 7:00pm-11:00pm at the Sherando Pool.
There will be lifeguards & chaperones.
The band boosters will be providing pizza and drinks. The students are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share with the group. You do not have to swim..feel free to play corn hole, bring a volleyball for the nets, football, cards, ect.
Don't be shy, come join us, meet new people and have some fun before school starts!
Any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Friday, August 13th @ 6:30pm Sherando High School (last day of camp)
This is for all band families! Come through the main office entrance at the school. Dinner will be in the cafeteria/commons area.
Performance will be on the main football field after dinner.
Seniors & Juniors please bring a main dish.
Sophomores & Freshmen please bring a side dish & a dessert.
The students, our director, staff & volunteers work very hard. Please join us to celebrate the end of the two very long weeks of band camp and the beginning of our marching season at our annual Parent Preview/Dinner event. Everyone brings food to share and we all get to see the very first performance of this year's show!
This is a great opportunity to meet our band Director Mr. Joel Cosner & our President Sam Kilkus who will introduce our board members and talk a little about the band and the boosters.
