Band Booster Meeting

Our next band booster meeting will be Monday, December 7th at 6:45pm. 

If you have a student in the band, YOU are part of the Band Boosters. 

Come meet other band parents, see how you can get involved, help plan for future band events and learn more about this coming school year. 

The meeting will be online through Zoom and a link will be emailed prior to the meeting.

Water Donations

​Its that time of year to stock up on bottled water!  We will gladly accept any size pack water bottles to keep our students hydrated during marching practice.  Feel free to drop off water in the band room once school opens or send with your student.

Set of 2 Corn Hole Boards. Sale to benefit Sherando HS Band Boosters. Standard size black boards with black and red bags with Sherando Logo.
We have two sizes for the wind chimes, small (18 inches) is $35 and large (24 inches) is $50.

2020 Band Fee

The band fee for 2020-2021 is $150 per student.  We know talking about fee's and money can sometimes get awkward for uncomfortable.  Here is a small list of where some of your the $150 is going:

Show design (marching band, indoor, etc), school music fee to Sherando, Instructors, concert coaches, banquet, pre-game meals, band camp meals, show shirts, logistics expenses, scholarships, website, insurance, legal and accounting fees, props, equipment, fuel, uniform expenses, postage, bank service fees, instruments, transportation.

We understand it may be challenging for some families to pay the band fee for their student(s).  If you are interested in sponsoring a band fee for band student, please contact Jason Long at jmlong.1978@gmail.comor Sandy Smith at sandyclaresmith@gmail.com.

Band Shoes/Uniforms

Students will be fitted for uniforms and marching shoes once school starts.

Your student will be assigned a marching uniform for them to use at competitions, home football games and select parades throughout the entire year.

Drill Master Marching Shoes will need to be purchased for $40.  Students can use the same shoes all four years in band if able.  Feel free to order a size larger if you feel your students feet are not done growing.


Returning Band Families:  If your Drill Master Marching Shoes are too small or you aren't returning to band, we will gladly accept your donated marching shoes back to the uniform room.  Please contact Catherine Dodrill (Member-at-Large Uniforms) at dodrillotter@gmail.com or text 540-539-0437 to arrange drop off.  This will benefit students who could use them for a discounted rate or those who forget to bring their shoes on competition days.
